Click here for a Map detailing the Traffic Management Plan

The Darwin City Council wishes to advise a revised Traffic Management Plan for Woolner Road Upgrade – Stuart Highway to Brewery Place project will be in place for approx. 6 weeks starting on Monday the 26th October 2009.

The revised Traffic Management Plan, will result in the following:

  • Bishop Street will become permanently left turn only into Woolner Road;
    Iliffe Street will be realigned to the new roundabout;
  • Brewery Place traffic will enter Woolner Road at the new roundabout to access Stuart Highway or Iliffe Street;
  • Access to Woolner Road from Stuart Highway and Tiger Brennan Drive will be as per normal; and
  • Normal roundabout road rules shall apply.

The traffic conditions will be monitored during implementation of the traffic management plan. When travelling through the new works, please exercise caution and heed all traffic signage and direction from traffic controllers.

Works on site will be between the hours of 6 am to 7 pm and the speed zone within the area will remain at 40kph.

Council apologises for any inconvenience these traffic changes may cause. However, the safety of the public is our primary concern and the Woolner Road Upgrade project is Black Spot project. The implementation of a Traffic Management Plan is vital to achieve a safe traffic environment whilst construction is underway.

A copy of the Traffic Management Diagram to be employed is available at the Darwin City Council website www.darwin.nt.gov.au and is attached to this correspondence for your information.

Should you have any concerns during the implementation of the traffic measures outlined in this correspondence, please do not hesitate to call 89 300 618 from 8.00 am to 4.15 pm or the all hours emergency contacts on 0429564841 or 0438403030.
