Cycle paths
Darwin's flat terrain and glorious tropical climate lend themselves to cycling as a pleasant recreational pursuit - and you can do it in complete safety by using the city's extensive local network of excellent cycle tracks. Tracks have been installed to take you right along the breezy coastal fringe of the city and suburbs, and to parks, reserves and general recreation facilities throughout the municipality. The Darwin City Council and Cityof Palmerston have produced a comprehensive and colourful map, titled Making Tracks, which will fit snugly into any bag or backpack. It shows cycle paths and highlights special places around both cities.
