Chinese cemetery

Darwin's multicultural society is reflected in its cemeteries with many Chinese memorials to be found in the Pioneer Cemetery which was opened in 1873 on Goyder Road, The Gardens Road Cemetery opened in 1919 and Darwin General which was opened in 1958.  All of these are now closed.  There is a Chinese section at Thorak cemetery which is Darwin's currently used cemetery.

The only specifically Chinese cemetery is to be found on Tiger Brennan Drive in Stuart Park.  It is a very old cemetery and is no longer used.  It is administered by the Chung Wah Society and they can be contacted on 8981 7658.
