Sister cities program

Each sister city relationship is unique and offers its own individual benefits and characteristics. The activities of individual committees reflect this and projects can vary greatly from committee to committee, from historical to cultural or from educational to vocational.

As well as nurturing the Sister City relationship by maintaining good communication lines and working on joint projects with counterparts and promotes the program through projects and events in Darwin and responds to local enquires.

Program Resources

The Program is serviced by a full time officer based in the Community Development Section of Darwin City Council's Community Services Directorate. The officer provides strategic and administrative support to the committees and promotes and supports community involvement in the Sister Cities Program.
