Public transport
Buses are the main mode of public transport for Darwin residents and their visitors and are operated by the Northern Territory Government. The fleet is maintained to a high standard and most buses are airconditioned for passenger comfort.
A regular and reliable bus service runs between the Harry Chan Avenue interchange just minutes from the city Mall, and the other major interchanges at Casuarina Square and Palmerston. All suburbs within the Darwin municipality are covered by services that run regularly seven days a week.
Weekday services to most areas run at least every half hour. Services on weekends and public holidays are less frequent but still regular and reliable. Darwin's public buses also run regularly to and from the Royal Darwin and Darwin Private Hospitals and Charles Darwin University.
