Proposed $7m Darwin City Revitalisation Project

Darwin City Council in partnership with the NT Government has proposed an $7.0m project to revitalise the Darwin City Precinct
Darwin City Council has received a $3.6m grant from the Federal Government's Regional and Local Communities Infrastructure Program. The application was made with the support of the NT Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DPI).
The proposal includes investment from:
- $3.6m from the Australian Government
- $1.75m from the Northern Territory Government (via DPI)
- $1.15m from Darwin City Council
- $500,000 from the private sector
An extensive public consultation process was undertaken and was used to help formulate the various design elements.

Key Upgrades
- Social and Cultural infrastructure - enhancing main streets, public squares and event spaces
- Recreational facilities - upgrading community recreation and urban play spaces
- Tourism infrastructure - creating tourist related infrastructure such as bus setdown areas and city gateway points
- Access facilities - Improves disabled access to the CBD
Darin City Council will be undertaking public consultation in the near future.
