School tours of the Civic Centre

Darwin city Council offers the opportunity for all Darwin primary school students to visit the Civic Centre to learn more about Local government in the Northern Territory and in particular Darwin City Council.

Students learn from first hand experience what it is like to be an elected member and the Council's decision making process. They will learn about the three levels of government and sit in the 'hot chairs' of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, CEO and Department Directors in the Council Chambers.
