I have enjoyed a very busy life in my lead-up to being elected as an Alderman on Darwin City Council and now I'm looking forward to representing the people of our tropical city.

Only recently, I retired from my role as General Manager of Tourism Top End, a position that highlighted the unique benefits of our region and the importance of tourism to the Territory.

Tourism is one of my passions and while I enjoy travel I love being home and taking in the pleasures that Darwin offers.

My other passions include cycling, hockey, current affairs and charity work. I am proud to be involved with raising money for Variety which is a children's charity in the Northern Territory.

I have been heavily involved in a range of government, business and community work. Given my active lifestyle it is probably not a surprise that I used to be a Physical Education teacher.

Now my energies will go into my new role in the Lyons Ward. I'm very honoured to be given the opportunity.

My husband Richard and our three grown-up children fully support my new position as Alderman and I aim to ensure that we meet the challenges that face us in the exciting stage in the development of Darwin.
